Treble Choir

Treble Choir is a full-year course available to female singers from any grade. The class is open to first-time singers as well as experienced vocalists.

The yearly repertoire typically pulls from a variety of musical styles, from classical to contemporary, including Western art music (sacred and secular), folk and multicultural music, vocal jazz, pop, and musical theater. The class itself focuses on the development of vocal technique, ensemble skills, and music literacy. There is a special emphasis on works written for women's voices.

Students have the option of taking Treble Choir as a CP1 class or as an Honors course. The honors students must meet the prerequisite requirement of 1 year's experience in a music ensemble at the high school level. Honors students are responsible for participating in musical extracurriculars and being leaders in class during warm-ups and sectionals. The entire Treble Choir (CP1 and Honors) performs at school concerts and community events throughout the year.
